Coldwork

cropped-faviconAMO (1.2358)

A branded steel from Doerrenberg. This cold work steel is supplied in a pre-hardened condition (280-325 BHN ~ 30-34 HRC). It has great machining ability and weldability. The AMO is characterized by a high maximum hardness (~ 60 HRC) as well as a high toughness potential. It is usually used for trimming thicker sheets as well as for trimming sheets up to a tensile strength of approx. 90 ksi.

cropped-faviconCP4M®

A branded steel from Doerrenberg. This cold work steel is supplied in a pre-hardened condition (280-325 BHN ~ 30-34 HRC). It has great machining ability and weldability. It can be nitrided and PVD-coated. CVD coating is also possible with CP4M®. This special material is characterized by a high degree of hardness, very good hardenability, good toughness, good wear resistance and very good tempering resistance. It is used in particular for processing high-strength sheet metals (up to approx. 150 ksi). The CP4M® is also ideal for processing stainless steels and aluminum.

cropped-faviconA2 (1.2363 / X100CrMoV5)

It is a 5 wt.% chrome steel with a high hardness potential and good hardenability. It is used for cutting and bending tools. It is also used for gauges, mandrels, and pins.

cropped-faviconA6

It is a Mn-, Cr-, and Mo-alloyed cold work steel. It can be air hardened and shows low distortion. It is used for dies and punches in blanking and forming operations and for gauges.

cropped-faviconA8

It is a Cr-, Mo-, and W-alloyed cold work steel with a high toughness potential. It is used for knives, slitters, and rolls.

cropped-faviconA10

A Mn-, Ni-, and Cr-alloyed cold work steel that can be air hardened. It is used for knives, slitters, and rolls.

cropped-faviconD2 (1.2379 / X153CrMoV12)

Material has a very high wear resistance. The D2 is a worldwide standard material for many cold work applications. It is used in sheet metal processing for bending, cutting and punching tools. It is used for thread rolling dies and rollers. It is also used in plastics processing, be it in the area of screw extruders, nozzles or plastic molds.

cropped-faviconD3 (1.2080 / X210Cr12) (1.2436 / X210CrW12)

The D3 is mainly used for tools that are subject to heavy abrasive wear. Examples are: deep drawing tools, wire drawing tools, stone processing tools, knives for paper and plastics.

cropped-faviconO1 (1.2510 / 100MnCrW4)

Medium-alloyed cold work steel with good hardenability and high wear resistance. It is used for cutting and punching tools, knives, gauges, mandrels, and pins.

cropped-faviconO6

Low alloyed cold work steel, which needs to be quenched in oil. It can be used for gauges and blacksmithing tools.

cropped-faviconS5

Shock resistant cold work steel with good toughness. It is normally used for chisels, rivet sets, shear knives and punches.

cropped-faviconS7 (1.2355 / 50CrMoV13-15) (1.2357 / 50CrMoV13-14)

It is a shock resistant cold work steel, which has a high toughness potential. Due to its good tempering resistance, it can be also used for moderately high temperatures. Typical applications for S7 are chisels, rivet sets, shear knives, punches.
